  • Absolutely! We specialize in all curl types, from straight to coily, and everything in between. Whether your hair is wavy, curly, or coily, our team of experts is trained to work with every texture. Check out our About Us page to find the stylist who feels like the best match for your hair!

  • All of our stylists are curly hair specialists! We all have experience working with various hair types. We recommend reading our About Us page to get to know our stylists and see who resonates with you, so you can make the best choice for your hair care.

  • Yes, the wash and style is included with all services, except for cut & go’s, bang trims, undercuts, and add-ons. Our wash and style includes a revitalizing hair wash and conditioning, followed by product application tailored to your curl type. We use the BounceCurl brush for styling (depending on your curls), and drying is done with a diffuser and hooded dryer combo to give your curls the best shape and volume.

  • We don’t offer blowouts or traditional heat styling as part of our regular services, but you can book a blowout and flat iron service separately. All of our heat styling services include a heat protectant to keep your curls safe and healthy!

  •  We understand that life happens, and we try our best to accommodate late arrivals. However, after 15 minutes, we cannot guarantee that your stylist will be able to service you, as we want to respect the schedules of other clients. If you're running late, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to adjust.

  • Absolutely! While we specialize in curly hair, we welcome all hair types. Whether you have straight, wavy, or textured hair.

  • It is street parking in New Haven. Please refer to our Directions and Parking page for detailed information on how to operate and pay for parking in the area. It will provide all the specifics you need for a smooth parking experience!

  • We accept cash, check, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major credit cards. Please note that tipping cannot be done on your card. You can leave a tip in cash at the front desk during checkout or send it via Venmo. QR codes for Venmo are available at checkout.

  • At Jo Bruno Hair, we don’t rely solely on the curl type number system. We believe that curl patterns are unique and vary across your hair. For example, the front section of your hair may have a 3C texture, while the back could have a 4C pattern. Every head of curls is different, and we focus on understanding your hair’s individual needs to provide the best care and styling for you.

  • Yes, we do! We offer a variety of treatments to help with frizz, dryness, and damage. Please check out our services page and check out our add-ons to see the full range of treatments we offer to keep your curls healthy and hydrated.

  • We recommend getting your curls cut every 6-8 weeks to maintain shape, reduce split ends, and keep your curls looking fresh. However, the ideal timing may vary depending on your curl type and growth, so your stylist will provide personalized recommendations based on your hair’s needs.

  • Our stylists will discuss your unique curl type and needs during your appointment to recommend the best products from our trusted brands, including Innersense, Ouidad, and DevaCurl. They'll help you find the perfect products to keep your curls healthy and looking their best!
